Tether is a cryptocurrency token issued by Tether Limited in 2014, blockchain-based digital currency that is pegged to the U.S. dollar.

Pioneered the stablecoin model and are the most widely traded. Tether tokens (USD₮) claims its value is backed by 20 percent of its US dollar reserves held in its bank accounts.
